The Yorke Table dishes up a locally-sourced degustation — proving the Yorke Peninsula is a foodie’s paradise
Despite the algal bloom wreaking havoc on parts of the southern coast, there’s still plenty of fish in the sea — and even more to celebrate from the land, vines, paddocks, bakeries and butchers across the Yorke Peninsula. As part of the GROUNDED Arts Festival, food lovers are in for a real treat, with The Yorke Table Gourmet Dinner serving up a truly local degustation on August 20.
Held at Barley Stacks Wines (who’ve done the impressive job of growing grapes in a region better known for barley), the dinner is a celebration of regional resilience, flavour and creativity — and a reminder that the Yorke Peninsula is more than just a great fishing spot. It’s a growing food bowl.

Curated by longtime local caterer Caroline Bonnett from MBC Foods, the menu brings together some of the best local producers in the business. From Watsacowie-battered King George whiting to Rock Lobster from Pondalowie Bay, the seafood stars are out in force — as are inland heroes like Babbage Farm lamb, beef cut to perfection by the Warooka Butcher, and sourdough made from Minlaton Bakery’s legendary mother yeast.
There’s puff pastry lamb and seaweed sausage with mulberry BBQ sauce, native-spiced pistachio dukka, and lentil cakes topped with saltbush and yoghurt. Even dessert is a showcase of local ingenuit – think quandong, wattleseed, rosemary flowers and red lentils garnished with flair by Jo Minks of Nourished on Yorkes.
Every course is paired with local drops from Barley Stacks, brews from Watsacowie, and spirits from Sunny Hill and Lost Tide Distilleries — who are all turning local grain and botanicals into award-winning sips.
MC for the evening is Barley Stacks’ own Lyell Schulz, live music is by local legend Caleb Raymond, and this primary producing dinner is more than just a delicious night out — it’s a celebration of how creativity, connection and regional pride can grow, even in tough times.
Bookings are open now — grab a seat or gather a crew, and enjoy the Yorke Peninsula’s putting its best dish forward.
The Yorke Table is a part of GROUNDED YP Art Festival – with over 40 events across 12 towns during August.
