Yorke Peninsula’s Redwing Farm Shows The World Why Country Stays Are Something Special
A little slice of country life on the Yorke Peninsula has caught the eye of an international luxury lifestyle publication.
Weetulta’s Redwing Farm has been named Rural Accommodation and Wedding Venue of the Year – South Australia in LUXlife Magazine’s Resorts and Retreats Awards 2026.
LUXlife is a UK-based digital lifestyle publication showcasing standout destinations, experiences and brands from around the world. Its annual awards recognise businesses across tourism, hospitality and luxury experiences.
But while the award might have a fancy title, the magic behind Redwing Farm is fairly simple — fresh air, open spaces, country hospitality and the chance to slow down.
A Little Farm Making A Big Impression
Located on a 460-acre working farm just 15 minutes from the Copper Coast, Redwing Farm gives visitors a hands-on taste of rural South Australia.
Guests can feed animals, collect eggs, wander the property, sit around the fire pit, ride bikes, roast marshmallows or simply enjoy watching the world go by from the deck.
The property dates back to the 1850s and was named after a ship that sank off the Yorke Peninsula coast. While the ship’s story came to an end, the Redwing property was just beginning.
Where Country Life Meets Tourism
Today, the historic farm has been transformed into award-winning accommodation and a wedding destination, while still keeping its country character.
Visitors can stay in the renovated 1850s Shearers Quarters or the converted 1950s hay barn, both restored into rustic farm accommodation.
The property is also home to The Shed — a restored shearing shed turned wedding venue, hosting everything from intimate celebrations to larger country weddings.
Redwing Farm is no stranger to recognition, having previously earned a place in the South Australian Tourism Hall of Fame and taken home bronze at the Australian Tourism Awards.
But beyond the trophies, it’s a place where kids can meet the animals, boots can get dusty and families can experience a genuine piece of South Aussie farm life.
