Yorke Peninsula’s YorKON convention returns to Minlaton Town Hall these school holidays with two free days of games, cosplay and family fun
YorKON Yorke Peninsula has grown into a much-loved games and pop culture convention, drawing crowds of gamers, cosplayers and families. This October it’s back, bringing two days of free, family-friendly fun to Minlaton.
Keen gamers will take over Minlaton Town Hall on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October – right in the middle of the school holidays. There’ll be retro and modern games, arcade machines, tabletop battles, cosplay, workshops and collector displays.
Yorke Peninsula Council Community Development and Engagement Officer Sonny Coombs said organisers were excited to welcome gamers, pop culture fans and curious first-timers.
“YorKON has always been about creating a safe, inclusive space where young people and families can connect, play and celebrate shared interests,” he said.
“Beyond the games, YorKON is an important community event that supports youth wellbeing and safe social engagement.
It encourages creative expression and community pride, and attracts visitors, boosting the local economy.”
And the best bit is that entry is free and so are the games. You’ll still need a ticket though – grab yours via Humanitix.
