The Skies Light Up over South Australia’s Country Gems as we bring in the New Year
Grab your party poppers and pour some bubbles, regional South Australia is welcoming the new year with a bang. From fireworks over foreshores and the mighty Murray, to rodeo action and aerobatics, here’s a look at what’s happening across the state.
STANSBURY – Countdown by the Coast
Stansbury’s much-loved Seaside Market goes twilight to farewell 2025, with stalls, live music and food trucks from 3–8pm. Stick around for a spectacular firework display over Oyster Bay at 9.30pm.

PORT VINCENT – Gala Day New Year’s Day
Just down the road, Port Vincent’s annual Gala Day kicks off your 2026 the right way. Marine Parade comes alive with live music, rides, food trucks and an aerobatic display by the Silver Sharks. The first night of the year ignites with another fabulous fireworks show over the water.

WALLAROO– Double Fireworks, Double Fun
Wallaroo goes big on New Years Eve too with show rides, twilight markets and food vans along Heritage Drive. The Silos will come alive with a light show from 9pm, followed by two fireworks displays at 9:30pm and midnight.

PORT BROUGHTON – New Year Eve by the Bay
Port Broughton sees the year out on the foreshore with a laid-back community celebration. Roll out a picnic rug, grab dinner from the many food vans, enjoy the sunset and then watch fireworks light up the bay at 9:30pm.

STREAKY BAY Foreshore Festival
The Streaky Bay Foreshore comes alive with a family-friendly NYE festival featuring live music, kids’ entertainment and food vans. Fireworks launch from the iconic jetty at 10pm and midnight.

VICTOR HARBOR – Foreshore Fireworks
Warland Reserve is the place to be New Years Eve, with live entertainment, amusements and food stalls before fireworks explode over the foreshore at 9:45 and again at midnight. It’s the Fleurieu’s biggest community New Year’s event, and it’s free!

MANNUM – New Year by the River
Celebrate by the Murray with live music, food and riverfront entertainment, before the town is lit up with a fireworks display at around 9:30pm. A beautiful setting to welcome 2026 – made possible by Mannum Progress Association and generous donations from the local river community.

MOUNT GAMBIER – Family Fun & Fireworks
Mount Gambier puts on a full evening of free kids’ activities, live entertainment and market stalls, capped off with two fireworks displays – one early in the night and one at midnight.

PERLUBIE BEACH Sports – New Year’s Day Classic
Held on New Year’s Day, this historic beach event has been running since 1914. Expect sand races, endurance events and classic seaside atmosphere – a proper EP tradition with proceeds going back to the community.
