Stansbury Seaside Market – Where the Yorkes Comes to Life

Abbie Tiller

With over 70 Stalls Stansbury Seaside Market is a Southern Yorkes institution

There’s something about Stansbury on a market day. Maybe it’s the salty Oyster Bay breeze, the smell of cinnamon doughnuts wafting through the foreshore, or the sound of Rob Tonkin’s trusty keyboard rolling out a tune that makes everyone smile. Whatever it is – the Stansbury Seaside Market is more than a market. It’s a Southern Yorke Peninsula institution.

From October through to April, the town transforms into a buzzing foreshore festival seven times a season – October Long Weekend, pre-Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Australia Day, March Long Weekend, Easter, and one last hurrah in April, coinciding with Stansbury’s wooden boat regatta, the Saltwater Classic. Each one feels a little different, but they all share the same unbeatable vibe – beach on one side, shady old fig trees on the other, and stall after stall of treasures waiting to be discovered.

Stansbury Seaside Markets pops up on the foreshore with seven spectacular evens from October to April.

Handmade, Home-Baked and Bursting With Coastal Community Pride

Whether you start at the playground end or wind up at the Dalrymple Hotel (perfect if you’ve already decided that your reward for “all this walking” will be a cold drink on the deck), there’s no wrong way to do Stansbury Market.

You’ll find a mix of handmade, home-baked, and home-grown – and a few quirky surprises. Lions Club cinnamon doughnuts? Absolutely iconic. Jade Bakes, Noula’s Greek desserts and Cookie Luxe also add to the sweet experience (but you’ll have to get in early for those). There’s wickedly good candles from Little Kaput, upcycled jewellery from Wallaroo’s Breathless Jewellery, unique homewares from Villa 34, nuts and confectionery from More Than Just Nuts, and an array of hot and tasty brunch foods.

Lost Tide Spirit Co pops up for tastings at Stansbury Seaside Markets.

Grab a Fishing Lure, a Lost Tide Gin and Stroll The Foreshore

And it’s not just foodies who have all the fun. GT Marine sets up with fishing gear, Salty Surf brings Yorkes-inspired merch (and those famous fish filleting mats), Lynmac’s rustic garden art is always a hit, and you can even grab a gin or liqueur tasting from Stansbury’s own Lost Tide Spirit Co while you shop.

This is more than just a market – it’s community at its best. Stansbury has perfected the recipe for an award-winning market, and there’s no better way to kick off your long weekend than by gathering the goods you need to make it a great one.
