From sky-high aerobatics to fireworks over the bay – it’s all happening at Port Vincent this New Years
Nothing says New Year on the Yorke Peninsula quite like Port Vincent Gala Day. On Jan 1st Marine Parade is set to do what it does best – kick off the year with colour, fun, community spirit and that stunning Gulf St Vincent view.
Gala Day isn’t just an event, it’s a tradition powered by the community. Shackies, locals, day-trippers and families flock to the foreshore for a massive line-up of rides, markets, live music and tasty treats.
And as always, the sky’s the limit. The legendary Silver Sharks tear across the sky with their heart-pumping aerobatics during daylight hours, and when the sun goes down, the sky bursts back to life with Ignite the Night Fireworks display, proudly funded by the generosity of shack owners and the Friends of Port Vincent.
What’s New for 2026?
There’s a stack of fresh entertainment in the mix, including acoustic vibes by Ryan Bernhardt, a bubble show, roving balloon artist and interactive music sessions for the kids. Adelaide band, The Uber Beats, will get the foreshore pumping in their Gala Day debut.
The iconic Port Vincent Kiosk will also be adding to the fun – with their signature donuts being the centrepiece of the inaugural Donut Eating Competition.
Of course, all your favourites are back – the sandcastle comp, plaster painting fun, carnival rides, vintage cars, and an impressive smorgasbord of stalls selling everything from candles and jewellery to artisan bakes, fashion, metal art and more.

Gala Day is run by volunteers, who are calling for more troops. If you can spare a few hours you can sign up here. And it’s not totally voluntary! Payment is in the form of a couple of complimentary drink vouchers from the Ventnor or donut vouchers from Port Vincent Kiosk.
