Opening Night Dinner And Drive-In Movies Under The Stars

Friday night kicks things off with a special Opening Night Dinner at Big Winch 360, where guests will take in sweeping sunset views across the Breakaways before renowned chef Eddie Noble showcases local outback flavours and South Australian produce.

This exclusive one-night-only dining experience is paired with delicious Matriarch & Rogue wines from the Clare Valley, with tastings led by winemaker Marnie Roberts.

Then it’s off to the Coober Pedy Drive-In for a screening of The Sheep Detectives starring Hugh Jackman, under the stars at South Australia’s last remaining drive-in cinema, which has been entertaining locals and travellers since the 1960s.

Hutchison Street Comes Alive With Music, Markets And Fireworks

Saturday sees Hutchison Street come to life with a festival parade before the action heads to the community oval for a full day of live music, market stalls, novelty games, food vendors and a stack of family fun.

The town will fill with colour, music and the kind of atmosphere Cooper Pedy does best.

Festival favourites including the tug of war, toss the sausage game and the spectacular fireworks display will all return, while Wilbur’s Wildlife makes its first festival appearance with hands-on native animal encounters and interactive experiences.

One Fun Band will keep the party rolling into the evening, and wannabe rockstars can jump into the karaoke competition with cash prizes up for grabs before the after-party kicks on at the Italian Club.

And for those chasing a bit more action, the weekend wraps up with classic outback speedway from 2pm, where engines, red dirt and local bragging rights collide on the track.
