Shannon Noll Will Headline South Australia’s Most Remote Beer Festival This August
A cold beer always tastes better after a long drive.
Especially when you’re pulling up at South Australia’s most remote brewery.
This August, the iconic Prairie Hotel in Parachilna will host the inaugural Parachilna Outback Beer Festival, bringing together independent breweries from across the state, live music, great food and outback hospitality in the heart of the Flinders Ranges.
Leading the entertainment is Australian music favourite Shannon Noll. If you’ve ever belted out ‘What About Me?’ across a country pub, you’ll know exactly why he’s headlining.
He’s joined by Axle Whitehead, John O’Dea and Gemma Tiller for a weekend of live music in Parachilna.
Held from August 21 to 23, the three-day festival is centred around the Parachilna Brew Project, the Prairie Hotel’s own brewery and the most remote brewery in South Australia.
Joining the home team will be independent breweries from across the state, including Pikes Beer Co from the Clare Valley, Jumpship Brewing from Port Lincoln and Watsacowie Brewing Co from the Yorke Peninsula, giving visitors plenty to sample throughout the weekend.
What’s On At The Parachilna Outback Beer Festival
The festival kicks off on Friday evening with a long-table dinner under the stars, where guests will dine alongside the brewers while enjoying a specially curated menu from Prairie Hotel head chef Billy Dohnt.
Saturday is when it’s all happening, with breweries from across South Australia pouring side by side in the middle of the outback. Add live music, food trucks and plenty to eat from the Prairie Hotel kitchen, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a cracking day.
On Sunday, things slow down with the Slow Sunday Sesh on the Prairie Hotel verandah, with bacon and egg rolls, acoustic music and one last chance to enjoy the outback before heading home.
Worth The Road Trip
Around 500 kilometres north of Adelaide, Parachilna is reached entirely by sealed road, making for an easy drive through the Clare Valley and into the spectacular Flinders Ranges.
With the region looking the best it has in years, the festival offers the perfect excuse to turn a weekend away into an outback adventure. Spend a few days exploring Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, then settle in for craft beer, live music and a classic country pub atmosphere.
