Mintaro Car and Bike Show roars into its third year of horsepower and community spirit
Like most great ideas, they’re created while sharing a frothy with a mate. And that’s how the Mintaro Car and Bike Show was born. Gary Prior is an automotive enthusiast with a generous heart. Having previously kickstarted a Toy Run while living in the Northern Territory, he was inspired to create a community event in his new hometown of Mintaro in the scenic Clare Valley.
Gearing up for its third consecutive year, the Mintaro Car and Bike Show being held on Saturday March 2, is a blend of horsepower, live music, and community spirit. Together with The Mintaro Progress Association, Gary will bring a swag of up to 75 vehicles, ranging from Hot Rods and Classic Cars to Cool Utes and roaring Harley-Davidsons, which will be on display for visitors to admire.
Set in the historical streets of Mintaro, flanking the Magpie and Stump Hotel, the town will transform into a car and bike enthusiasts’ haven.
A family-friendly event, it’s the perfect day out in the beautiful Clare Valley. Visitors can grab themselves an egg and bacon brekky at the local bowls club before strolling through the street market starting at 9:30am. Max Crighton, followed by Top SA Blues act Paul and Andy, will add their soulful tunes to the festivities, starting at 11am.
For those looking to make a day of it, there will be food, beers, and wines available to enjoy in the historic surroundings of Mintaro. The Magpie and Stump Hotel will serve as a hub for the festivities, with their central location, outside seated area, and country charm, creating the perfect atmosphere for the ideal Clare Valley experience. Local wineries and restaurants will be open and food stalls available throughout the market.
Nine trophies are up for grabs, including Best Car, Best Bike, Best Ute, and Best Hot Rod, as well as People’s Choice for each category being presented at 3:30 pm.
Generously sponsored by the Clare and Gilbert Valley Council, Mintaro Progress Association, Magpie and Stump Hotel, Reillys Wines, and Mintaro Wines, the event draws a broad spectrum of support. The proceeds from the show will benefit Mintaro CFS, Mintaro Progress Association, Clare Lions Club, and the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
So mark your calendars for this revved-up gathering and if you’ve got a special automotive treasure stowed in the garage that you want to show off, don’t dilly-dally! Register that bad-boy and take a trip to the Mintaro Car and Bike Show in the picturesque Clare Valley. For just $15 entry fee you could walk away the winner proving that your hotwheels are the best.
