Sevenhill Cellars’ Serene Forest sets the stage for Fringe comedy
In the heart of the Clare Valley, the wine region’s very first winery, Sevenhill Cellars, is about to chalk up another first, hosting its debut Fringe event, “Letters to the Editor” – a comedy collision of wit and impeccable improvisation by internationally recognised improv troupe, ‘Changing Jennifers‘.
The award-winning winery’s, Serene Forest, overlooking rolling vineyards and the magnificent St Aloysius Church, is the stage for a side-splitting Saturday in the Valley, as ‘Changing Jennifers’ improvise their entire show based on the crazy things people write to local newspapers!
The audience is invited to take the reins by choosing the letter that becomes the catalyst of the improvisation, revealing the often twisted musings of the author. No two shows are the same and there’s nowhere that these daring and hilarious improvisers won’t tread.
As South Australia’s longest-running comedy improv troupe, with Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh festivals under their belt, the professional actors behind Changing Jennifers guarantee a hilariously good time.
You’re invited to the Forest before the laughs start, where Frankie and Sons Gourmet Pizzas will be serving up delicious eats that pair perfectly with Sevenhill wines, beer, and cider, or make an afternoon of it and stick around after the show.
The hour of comedy kicks off at noon, but if improv isn’t up your alley, you’re invited to call in after the show for some gourmet pizza and post-show fun.
The beautiful Sevenhill setting is the ideal location for an afternoon with a twist, so bring along a picnic blanket or deck chair and settle in for a joyous day, where the beauty of the Clare Valley merges with the hilarity of improv.
