The Beatles jazz tour brings Charlee Watt’s powerhouse vocals to regional South Australia
Beatlemania is about to get a jazzy makeover, with the Beatles jazz tour rolling into country South Australia this October.
Multi award-winning cabaret artist and proud Port Lincoln local Charlee Watt is taking her powerhouse vocals and toe-tapping energy on tour with Beating Up The Beatles, presented by Country Arts SA.
Backed by her own jazz Fab Four, Charlee reimagines the classics with smoky ballads, funky grooves, and swinging beats – giving fans a fresh way to fall in love with the music legends all over again.
The tour kicks off in Burra on October 9, before heading to Port Pirie, Port Augusta, and Streaky Bay.
“Growing up, the Beatles were always spinning on the record player in our house,” Charlee said.
“I’m thrilled to bring this show to regional audiences – it’s full of heart, fun, and a little bit of mischief too.”
A hometown talent goes big
Charlee’s no stranger to the spotlight. With two Adelaide Fringe Emerging Artist Awards under her belt and the 2024 Critics Circle Emerging Artist of the Year, she’s already wowed crowds at the Adelaide Fringe, Cabaret Fringe, and Melbourne Seniors Festival.

On stage, she’s joined by an all-star ensemble – fellow Elder Conservatorium grads David Goodwin (music director/piano), Christina Guala-Goodwin (saxophone), Declan Horan (bass), and Lewis Todd (drums). Together, they bring the smooth and soulful sounds of Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone and Diana Krall into the Beatles’ catalogue.
And the critics agree!
“Charlee Watt certainly has a powerhouse voice that makes everyone sit up and take notice.” – InReview
“The arrangements brought a texture to these songs that one suspects would delight the original authors.” – The Barefoot Review
