Three days of racing, BBQ, camping and one of Australia’s biggest country music line-ups hit Tailem Bend this October
Australian country music icon Kasey Chambers is headlining The Bend Classic this October, topping a huge weekend that mashes together racing, BBQ, camping and a music line-up stacked with Aussie favourites. From October 24–26, Tailem Bend’s Shell V-Power Motorsport Park will be pumping with the sound of guitars and engines.
The music program is huge! Friday gets things rolling with Travis Collins, Kaylee Bell and a Luke Combs tribute. Saturday is stacked with Max Jackson, Kingswood, The Wolfe Brothers, Casey Barnes and the queen herself, Kasey Chambers. Sunday keeps the party alive with Kingswood and Brad Chicken & The Bootstraps. It’s a proper country feast of chart-toppers, tribute acts and local favourites, filling the stage from midday to late. And if that’s not enough, line dancing takes over Shotgun Willie’s Bar all weekend for some bootscooting action.
Of course, The Bend Classic isn’t ditching its roots. On the track, you’ll see everything from historic touring cars and national sports sedans to open-wheelers, Formula 5000s and even a hillclimb. Add in the nostalgic drag racing, where retro machines line up to relive the glory days, and you’ve got petrol-soaked entertainment from start to finish. Rev-heads can even get behind the wheel for karting or hot laps in Mustangs, Commodores and Porsches, with the ever popular Experience Program.
Off the track, things get smokier. BBQ at The Bend is hosting a national cook-off with $10,000 up for grabs and a golden ticket to Texas on the line. The best pitmasters in the country will be in action at Podium Park, serving up brisket, ribs and enough low-’n’-slow magic that will have meat-lovers begging for more. There’ll be butcher demos, eating competitions and masterclasses for anyone who wants to sharpen their tong skills.
And because one day is never enough, camping is right in the thick of it. Pitch a swag in the infield, grab a powered site at the Dragway, or go easy at BIG4 The Bend Holiday Park. Wake up to engines instead of kookaburras and call it a weekend to remember.
