On May 18 and 19 the crew at Hill River will celebrate 40 years of the iconic Clare Valley SCA Gourmet festival. Join them on the lawn for a bootscootin’, family-friendly weekend, not to be missed.
Line Dancing, Country Legends, and Mouthwatering Americana eats
Australia’s number one country dance bush band, Swamp Dawkins, will have you hitting the dance floor. Kick up your heels with sounds from the flying fiddle, chicken pickin’ guitar, madhouse mandolin and kicking drums. You name it, the Swamp Dawkins crew do it. Yeehaw!
To refuel your dancing legs, Yorke Peninsula’s food superstar, Tim, from Chunky Boys Kitchen, will be serving up a delicious feed of Low ‘n’ Slow Americana eats including 18 hour Smoked Brisket Boxes, Pulled Pork and Slaw Burgers , Nashville HOT Chicken, Nuggs and Chips for the kids and a selection of vegetarian options too – all the flavours of the perfect bush banquet.
The Hill River bar is stacked
No visit to Hill River Estate is complete without sampling their award-winning wines. From the crisp Polish Hill River Riesling – a standout with over 70 National and International accolades, to the ever-popular Gewurztraminer, and a range of reds, including Grenache, Cabernet and Shiraz.
For fortified lovers, there’ll be two on offer – a fortified Shiraz and ‘Rob’s Tawny Port’, to help warm you up by the fire pit. Enjoy a glass or bottle of your favourite wine while soaking up the beautiful scenery, with rolling hills dotted with century-old Gum trees. For non-wine drinkers, there’ll be soft drinks and beer on hand.
