From Balaklava to Burra and Beyond, Tanya Williams has SA covered when it comes to conveyancing

Tanya Williams knows that buying and selling property is are more than just a transaction. They’re where life’s stories happen, where families are raised and businesses begin.

After more than 20 years working in real estate and conveyancing, Tanya has launched her own business, Williams & Co Conveyancing, looking after the needs of clients when buying, selling or transferring property within South Australia.

A Mid North girl through and through, Tanya grew up in Balaklava, where her family ran the famous Blatchy’s Nuts brand. These days, she lives on a property just outside of Burra with her husband Paul and, when they’re not off chasing travel adventures, their two sons, Harrison and Lucas. With her boys now grown, Tanya’s life has shifted gears — opening up more time for travel, good food, and pursuing the career she’s built over more than two decades.

While her name is well known in the Clare Valley property scene, her reach now extends right across SA — offering trusted, down-to-earth guidance to people buying and selling property, no matter where they live.

“I’ve always loved property — scrolling through Realestate.com is one of my favourite past times,” Tanya laughs. “But what I really enjoy is working with people. Helping them understand the process and easing some of the stress. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, and that guidance can make all the difference.”

Tanya’s property journey began back in 2000, working with respected local agencies like Edwards Real Estate, Elders and Ray White Clare Valley. She later moved into conveyancing, where she thrived as both a team leader and registered conveyancer with a large Adelaide law firm — until the pull to work more closely with clients and reconnect with her community became too strong to ignore.

She believes a good conveyancer should be in your book of ‘trusted professionals’ — alongside your accountant, mechanic, travel agent, hairdresser or lawyer. “It’s also really important that clients understand that they can choose their own conveyancer and engage the service even before the Contract is signed,” she said.  “Good advice is essential.”

“Once you have that rapport with someone, you can rely on them to help you through the ever-daunting process of buying or selling property.”

Tanya’s approach is all about keeping things simple and flexible. Whether it’s over a cuppa at the kitchen table, a chat in a local café, or a quick call or email — if it’s a South Australian property, she can act for the buyer or seller no matter where they are. While she often consults from the Gleeson Collective office space in Clare, she also enjoys hitting the road to meet clients face-to-face. “Technology has made conveyancing more efficient,” she says, “while also ensuring compliance and boosting security to protect clients from fraud.”

But when it comes to personalised local knowledge, Tanya’s strengths lie in the Mid North farming regions and the rolling vineyards of the Clare Valley, where she takes great pleasure in “researching” many of the world’s finest food and wine! She’s an active member of the Clare Valley Business and Tourism Association, the SA Woman network and Australian Institute of Conveyancers SA’s (AICSA) Best Practice Groups — keeping Williams & Co Conveyancing connected, current, and community-minded.
