Tumby Bay Kite and Kids Funfest

Melissa Smith
At GSA, we love seeing innovative and passionate rural communities thrive and work together to make their town a wonderful place to live, and one of those towns is the picturesque Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula. With a bunch of dedicated volunteers, the little seaside town strives to bring the best to the West.
Thanks to the Tumby Bay Progress Association, Xtreme Kites & Paddle is heading to Tumby for a day of high-flying and kids fun, this Sunday, January 14.
Admission is free, and for $35 kids can enjoy four hours of non-stop fun. Should the grown-ups fancy joining in, they can pay on the spot for individual activities. From Zorb Balls and Jumping Castles to Sumo Suits, Pedal Karts, Obstacle Courses, and Zorb Soccer, the kids will have an absolute blast, all while you bask in the spectacle of kite-filled skies. Beer, wine, and food will be on hand including Tumby Bay & District Cricket Association who will be opening the bar and cooking up some snags.
The town oval provides the perfect space for kites to soar and showcase your skills, plus, if you’re new at kite flying, experts will be on hand to share valuable tips and tricks. Kites will also be available for purchase during the event.
With enough support, this is pegged to become a regular event on the Tumby Bay Calendar.
And to cool off after a hard day’s kite flying, why not head down to the beach and enjoy the brand new second swimming pontoon? Another fabulous initiative of the Tumby Bay Progress Association and a brilliant asset for the community.
