Classic family movies, choc tops and popcorn under the stars at Skillogalee

Summer nights don’t get much better than wood fired pizzas, choc tops and popcorn, watching a family classic on the big screen under the stars with the stunning vineyards of  Skillogalee Estate as a backdrop.

The Clare Valley winery is making it a Summer to remember, with a series of free Twilight Cinema events throughout the festive season and into the new year.

Gather your family and friends, roll out the picnic rug and sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, with pre-movie lawn games, live music and some of the region’s finest award-winning wines, beer, gin and soft drinks available at the Lawn Bar.

Kick off the holiday season magic with everyone’s favourite big-hearted ogre, Shrek, on Saturday December 14 – tickets are free for members of Skilllogalee’s Friends and Family Community – it’s super easy to join and won’t cost you a  cent (we’ll even give you the link below).

Sit back and enjoy the serenity on Saturday December 21, with a twilight screening of the most heartwarming Aussie family movie of all time, The Castle. And on Sunday December 22, celebrate Christmas with some spooky Beetlejuice fun.

ABBA fans – in the new year it’s your turn to tune your pipes and take to the sprawling lawns for some Mamma Mia fun on Saturday January 11. It’s romantic, it’s nostalgic and theatrical, and we can’t think of a better place to be reacquainted with the jukebox romantic comedy than with a wine under the stars on a balmy evening in the Clare Valley.

Skillogalee’s glorious Summer Cinema sessions will round out on Saturday January 18, with a bit of action from our very own Russell Crowe in the Academy Award winning, Gladiator, complete with plenty of pre-movie entertainment to celebrate the Sevenhill winery’s up-coming cottage restoration in grand style.
