Celebrating Creativity and Community at Port Pirie SALA Winter Festival
The Port Pirie SALA Winter Festival returns in August, and this year it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than ever in a celebration bursting at the seams with creativity and culture.
Memorial Park will transform into a festival hub with an impressive array of talented musicians, entertainment and interactive workshops. Browse through the bustling market, be entertained by roving performers and devour a smorgasbord of delicious eats and drinks for a celebration like no other.
Musical Magic Takes Centre Stage
This year’s festival features a stellar musical lineup, headlined by the legendary Amber Lawrence, a six-time Golden Guitar winner and Australian songwriting icon. With an award-winning career that includes seven studio albums and three children’s albums, audiences of all ages are guaranteed show-stopping performances including a special children’s show in the afternoon, followed by the main event later in the evening. Joining her on the stage will be the talented Caitlin Drew and Jasmine Kimber, alongside a host of local and national talent.
Tap into your inner Artist
Beyond the stage, you can tap into your creative side at the festival’s Art Tent. Here, you can try your hand at a range of workshops, from traditional crafts like basket weaving and wood carving to trendy Neon Paint and Sip sessions. Catering for all skill levels there’s something to get your creative juices flowing.
Wonder awaits under the Circus Tent
Transport yourself to a world of wonder under the circus tent where you can witness gravity-defying acrobatics, the mind-blowing talents of magician and mind-reader, Tom Weil, plus so much more. Throughout the day, keep your eyes peeled for the Roving Native Animals – a chance to get up close with some of Australia’s fascinating wildlife. And if you’ve always wanted to dip your toe into the circus scene join the circus workshop and try your juggling, balancing, or plate-spinning skills.
As dusk falls be sure to catch the spectacular pyrotechnics artistry show. The high-energy crew from Flux Entertainment will not only light up the night sky but will leave you gob-smacked with their fiery and thrilling performances.
