Clare Valley dishes up mouthwatering Lamb Festival Menu

Abbie Tiller
The countdown is on to Clare Valley’s 5th Festival of the Lamb from September 18 to 22, and if you haven’t already, it’s time to lock in a succulent lamb feast for the senses, as some events have already sold out!
Sunday’s events will be the biggest showcase of the festival, with plenty of free events right across the Valley, from the Wool and Fiber Fair at Mintaro, to an exhibition of incredible Wool Fashion at the Auburn Institute, and Art of the Lamb at the Clare Valley Arts Collective and Polish Hill River Museum.
But a trip to The Lamb Festival isn’t complete without tucking into some mouthwatering lamb, and local and visiting Chefs are teaming up with lamb producers and local wineries to develop some mouthwatering menus for this year’s event.

Joining in the celebration of the lamb is the magnificent Magpie and Stump Hotel at Mintaro, Mr. Mick Cellar Door and Kitchen, Antidote Kitchen Clare, Bentley’s Hotel and Paulett’s Bush deVine Restaurant. You can check out all the offerings right here.

And here’s a taste of some top-notch foodie experiences that will make your heart sing during the Spring Lamb Festival.

Knappstein Wines and Nyowee Poll Merino invite you to a Fire and Feast Long Lunch – a celebration of fine food, wine, and tradition set in the historic Goodonga shearing shed just over the hill from Auburn.

This special Sunday event combines some of Clare Valley’s finest elements, blending the robust flavours of local lamb with the vibrant tastes of Italian cuisine. A long table laden with an array of Italian-inspired delicacies, including slow-cooked lamb prepared over fire will be the centrepiece of the event.
