Looking for Love? Georgetown Pub hosts Speed Dating

Melissa Smith

Find love at Georgetown Pub’s Country Speed Dating night

Forget the drama of “Farmer Wants a Wife” and the gamble of “Married at First Sight.” Love is calling, and this time, it’s “Country Speed Dating” at the Georgetown Pub on May 18 and 25.

Are you sick of ‘swiping left’ on endless profiles of photoshopped women or men holding fish? Or maybe the thought of dating apps makes you break out into a nervous sweat? Well, here’s your chance to dust off your best country threads because Cupid is heading to Georgetown.

“Country Speed Dating” is about real people and real connections. Why not bring a wingman and drag a single friend along for moral support?  You never know, they might find their own happily ever after or at least a Bingo partner for Friday night. Even if you don’t meet your soulmate, you might just score some new friends.

No need to worry about heckles from locals at the bar either. The hotel will be closed to the general public, with only speed-dating singles allowed.

The night is just $59, which includes two drinks and canapés to keep you fuelled for love, or at least topped up with Dutch courage to overcome those first-date jitters. Don’t worry about any sugar daddy or cougar fantasies though – the Georgetown Cupids will be matching you up with folks in your own age bracket. By the end of the night, a “special envelope” will reveal your secret admirers, giving you the chance to find true love, or at least a fun night out, with someone who might remember the good ol’ days of mixtapes and payphones.

The night doesn’t end there though, with plenty of time to mingle, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere after the speed dating session ends.

What have you got to lose?
