With age comes perfection!
Mintaro celebrates ageing with Community dinner
Like the fine wine that surrounds Mintaro, the Clare and Gilbert Valleys community prioritises “ageing well”. Following on from a series of connected community events in 2024, Mintaro Progress Association is wrapping up the year with a special Dinner, celebrating ageing well, connecting with and valuing older people and discovering new ways to embrace the inevitable.
To be held at the historic Mintaro Institute on Wednesday December 4, the dinner will include a two-course meal by Auburn’s ASH Catering. Guest speakers will include Taimi Allen, Mental Health Commissioner for South Australia, Charlie Sheridan Wellbeing Project Officer for the Local Government Association of SA, and the region’s own Clare Valley Wine Hall of Fame legend, Neil Paulette.
Chief Winemaker at Paulett Wines, Neil will be presenting and showcasing some of the award-winning local winery’s aged varieties, including the 2017 Polish Hill River Riesling, 2014 ’47/74′ Malbec Cabernet, 2023 Polish Hill River Riesling for comparison and their 2019 Polish Hill River Cabernet Merlot. Mintaro’s Reillys Wines will also feature on the night, with their aged 2011 Watervale Riesling and 2014 Dry Land Shiraz. All proof that with age, comes perfection!
Simon Millcock from Mintaro Progress Association said, “we have staged a number of connected community events during the past six months including mental health, men’s health, exercise, diet, painting, flower arranging and storytelling and this dinner is being held to further our connections across the Clare Valley.”
The Connected Community project is delivered by the Mintaro Progress Association and supported by Office for Ageing Well, SA Health through the Grants for Seniors Program and Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
