It’s showtime in the regions as Country Arts SA rolls out 2025 program

As 2024 winds down, Country Arts SA is gearing up for an epic 2025 season, packed with arts experiences and projects designed to help regional artists thrive.

Next year, they’re keeping the spotlight on local communities and the unique creativity that makes South Australia so special.

Minister for the Arts Andrea Michaels officially launched the 2025 program at Whyalla’s Middleback Arts Centre, right before Bangarra Dance Theatre kicked off its regional tour.

“The arts are a vital part of our communities right across South Australia,” said Minister Michaels. “No matter where we are, we all look to the arts for inspiration, connection, and entertainment. The Malinauskas Government is committed to ensuring all South Australians can enjoy arts and cultural experiences, and Country Arts SA’s annual program is key to ensuring access to the arts for regional South Australians.”

“The 2025 program will bring exciting and thought-provoking performances, events, and exhibitions to regional SA. It’s particularly exciting to announce that we’re providing additional funding for Gravity and Other Myths to bring their new contemporary circus show Ten Thousand Hours to Whyalla, Port Pirie, Renmark, and Mount Gambier in 2025.”

Country Arts SA Chief Executive Anthony Peluso is excited about what’s in store for next year. “Country Arts SA’s priority is to champion South Australian artists and the work they make, presenting it on our arts centres’ stages and in small halls, galleries, and exhibition spaces across the state,” he said. “Our 2025 program celebrates the dynamic cultures of regional communities and shares world-class arts experiences and artists across the state. We could not be more excited for it.”

In 2025, expect a feast of First Nations talent across music, theatre, dance, and visual arts, offering regional communities rich opportunities to dive into South Australian First Nations arts and culture. Whether you’re just starting out or already a star, there will be plenty of chances for artists to grow their craft. Country Arts SA will also continue collaborating with top arts organisations like the State Theatre Company South Australia, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Gravity and Other Myths, Patch Theatre, and Windmill Theatre, ensuring regional audiences have access to a wide range of exciting performances and events.

A selection of shows from the 2025 program will be live from October 2. For more information and tickets, visit countryarts.org.au.
