Get ready for Clare Gourmet Week at Claymore Wines
Looking for a laid-back way to soak up the Clare Valley Gourmet Festival without the crowds and chaos? Set your sights on Claymore Wines in Leasingham – the gateway to the valley, where quality wine, family-friendly charm, and delicious food come together to create a gourmet delight!
Warm Up to the Clare Gourmet Festival Weekend
Claymore is kicking things off on Friday, May 16 with their Warm Up to the Clare Gourmet Festival Weekend session. Local legend Keiran Allen Music will be back on deck, setting the mood with his smooth acoustic sounds, while Jon fires up the BBQ and braziers to serve his famously loaded ‘Tasty Dogs’ – pork sausages from the famous Burra Butcher, caramelised onions, Greek slaw, sauerkraut and classic Beerenberg sauces.
If comfort food is your love language, don’t miss the Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz Beef Pie and Joshua Tree Riesling Chicken Pie from the award-winning Little Red Grape Bakery. Like a warm hug in pastry form, they pair beautifully with a bold red – or a cheeky Chardonnay.
Tickets for this event are free, but the hearty combination of flavours always proves popular, so best you make a booking here!
Claymore joins the Festival’s new Big Blue Sky Trail
On Festival Weekend, (Saturday and Sunday May 17–18), Claymore is part of the brand new Big Blue Sky Trail – an all-inclusive Gourmet Festival experience featuring four wineries, four food and wine pairings, plus exclusive tastings. At Claymore, that means a VIP experience in the Boot Room Barrel Store, complete with French Cassoulet by the fire and a barrel tasting of the 2024 Nirvana Reserve Shiraz. Tickets for the Big Blue Sky Trail are $195 and include a full day itinerary of curated indulgence with transport, food, wine and unique experiences all taken care of.
Lo-Fi Lounge
For a more low-key Festival weekend experience, you can drop in for Claymore’s Lo-Fi Lounge all weekend. Set your own vibe with the open jukebox, enjoy old-‘skool’ wine tastings, snack plates and party pies paired with great wine and classic country hospitality – no bookings needed unless you’re rolling deep with a group of six or more.
Paint the Vines
Another unique part of Gourmet Festival is “Breathe it In” – a chance to take a deep breath and soak in the Clare Valley’s beauty. Join the Claymore team to Paint the Vines on Friday May 22, when they team up with local artistic superstar, Lauren Weir. Guests will be transported to Claymore’s Watervale vineyard, to enjoy an immersive painting workshop, capturing the riesling landscape on canvas, of course while indulging in a drop of iconic Watervale Riesling grown on the surrounding vines.
