Party Amongst the Pines as Bundaleer Celebrates 150 Years
From its pine plantations to picnics, music festivals and the iconic Easter Bilby hunt, Bundaleer Forest has stood tall in the heart of the Southern Flinders for 150 Years – and that calls for another party amongst the pines!
Anyone with a connection to Bundaleer is invited to join the November 9 celebration. Pack your picnic rug or chair, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks and coffee vans, and reconnect with the social traditions that have made Bundaleer a much-loved community gathering place for 150 years.
In the lead up to the family-friendly event, the organising committee is putting out a call for memorabilia from over the years – photographs, old forestry artefacts or maps – anything that helps capture the history of the forest industry and the community’s rich connection to Bundaleer.

Got Bundaleer Memories? It’s Time to Share Them
Whether it’s photos and memorabilia of the work in the plantations and sawmills, Sunday School and church picnics, tennis and cricket matches, school excursions or dances in the Bundaleer Hall, the committee would love to include your memories on the day.
“If you’ve got a piece of Bundaleer’s story, big or small, we’d love to include it,” organiser, Greg Boston said. “And if your treasures are too precious to part with, we can help with scanning or photographing images so they can be part of the display without leaving your home.”
