Nothing beats a country market
If you haven’t hit up a market lately, consider a visit to Arthurton. This Annual Pop-Up event isn’t your average day in the sun. This is a market that is making a difference for our country kids, with proceeds donated directly to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. These funds are used to buy much-needed equipment that can improve access to healthcare and outcomes for families and children living in rural areas. So, while you splash the cash and enjoy a day out with friends, you’re also contributing to an amazing cause. Consider it guilt-free shopping!
What began as a few friends hosting a humble garage sale back in 2018, the Arthurton event has now grown, and this year has attracted over 100 vendors, with the majority hailing from the local area.
Nominated for Community Event of the Year, the Arthuton POP Up Market boasts a huge swag of stalls, food options, coffee, and even local gin. Live music adds to the atmosphere and is the place to be for a day of fun and support for the community.
If you’re feeling lucky, you can go in the draw to win your very own Thermomix TM6. The proceeds from this raffle also go towards the Maitland/Arthurton W&CH Auxiliary to support their healthcare initiatives. Kimberley Hamilton, a Thermomix Consultant from SYP Thermomixers, is generously offering a brand new TM6 valued at $2579!
Market regulars including Breathless Jewellery, and Plantz Alive, offer unique handmade items, jewellery, and plants. Pebble and Pearl Designs will be showing off their adorable handmade dolls and children’s wear, while market favourite Melvellous returns for another year with her quirky and creative polymer clay earrings. The detail is extraordinary!
Angela from Zest Botanicals is a local favourite. She cleverly crafts a vegan-friendly, ethical, and sustainable natural skincare range. Not only will your skin benefit, but so will the environment. And despite what your husband says, Macrame is back and better than ever with Paper Daisy Handmade showing how it’s done.
Country Living Homewares is bringing Frank Green products plus a whole heap more, and for the fashionists, Villa 34 Clothes features hand-sourced items from overseas and Australia, offering affordable, unique, and trendy clothing.
Besides the shopping options, the market hosts an array of food including the Maitland Lutheran School P&F, serving up delicious fresh rolls and milkshakes from the Clubhouse Kitchen, while the Wallaroo Scout Group dishes up hot plate delights. Grazing Yorkes will be cooking up a storm, with their delicious paella, which you can top off with Golden North Icecream. And for the adults, wash it all down with a beer from Watsacowie or Hedonbar Brewing Companies. Sunny Hill Distillery, a fixture at the market, will be serving up delicious drinks throughout the day as well.
Food, plants, clothes, homewares, gifts for the kids, plus oysters and crazy concrete chickens are just some of what’s on offer at Arthurton Pop-Up Market. It’s the perfect way to start crossing off your Christmas list, supporting small businesses while helping make the lives of sick kids in rural SA a little easier.
