Adventure Trek brings ultimate outdoor fun to Murray Bridge

Greater SA

Get set to trek and put the fun in fundraising for heart disease

If you love an adventure in the great outdoors, you won’t want to miss the challenge Adventure Trek is bringing to Murray Bridge on Saturday June 15.

It’s the ultimate outdoor escapade, a unique combination of inclusive fun, stunning scenery and exciting challenges.

The experts at Adventurethon know that life’s too short for boring walks, so they’ve been taking the path less travelled since 2010, inspiring people of all abilities and experience to see the great outdoors and visit amazing locations, while stepping up to a challenge and raising funds for heart disease – the leading cause of death in Australia.

This isn’t an ordinary hike, there’s an exciting adventure at every turn – from a live trackside orchestra, a spot of kayaking , a bow and arrow challenge and if you’re up for the full experience, you can even test your limits with some abseiling. No need to pack too many snacks for this hike, there’ll be energy food and drinks supplied at checkpoints along the trail.

You can chose your own adventure, with three distances including the ultimate challenge,  a 43km marathon, there’s a 30km mid-distance hike, and a 21km beginner-friendly trek – all designed to take you through breathtaking landscapes of the Murray River, the Lavender Federation Trail, and the stunning Kinchina Conservation Park.

With support from Adventure Trek staff, the carefully selected trails inspire people of all abilities to see the great outdoors and explore amazing locations. The aim is to unite walkers, from couch potatoes to fitness gurus, one step at a time!

Conquer the Trail, Conquer Heart Disease

Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, Adventure Trek welcomes you to join in the fun. Once you’ve conquered the course, you’ll receive a medal (which doubles as a handy bottle opener), and be re-fuelled with some delicious food and drinks and a post-trek party, featuring sounds by acoustic trio, My Brother George.

And while every step you take will strengthen your own heart, taking part also gives you an opportunity to fundraise for heart disease, with donations going to Australian Heart Research.

So grab your walking buddies and register for a heart healthy Saturday with a double dose of fun.
