Whether you’ve just nurtured your garden through the hot SA Summer or you’re ready to pop in a new patch of green, this weekend’s SA Autumn Garden Festival is sure to have something for every shade of green thumb.
The State’s “Premier Garden and Sustainability Festival” will be held at Clare Showgrounds, with some incredible guest speakers dishing the dirt on hedging and screening, gardening for mental health, caring for fruit trees and planning a climate-adapted garden.
Balhanna Nursery’s resident fruit tree expert, Derek Gibbons, will be there. The legendary Costa Georgiadis will be back in town. Sophie Thompson will be running specialised workshops on “Starting Your Patch From Scratch”, and vegetation specialist, Shaun Kennedy will be giving tips on embracing native plants and enjoying the many benefits that flow from growing plants that belong.
There’s loads to see and do, from stalls to a specialised kids area where they can plant their own seeds or make a scarecrow, free demos, a Gala Dinner and so much more.
