Celebrate the Clare Valley, featuring the best lamb, local produce, and Italian style
The countdown is on for Clare Valley’s highly anticipated 6th Festival of the Lamb, which will take place from September 17 to 21. This festival celebrates everything lamb, where food lovers, farmers, and wine enthusiasts come together to experience the best local produce and culinary expertise the Clare Valley has to offer.
But before the festival kicks off in the Clare Valley, the celebrations are heading to Adelaide for a special launch event of the 2025 program.
This event, held in collaboration with Slow Food SA, Fogolar Furlan, TAFE SA, and the Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb, will be a feast for the senses, bringing together the best of Clare Valley food and wine, plus some woolly fashion, all with a nod to Italian heritage.
The night will kick off with free cooking demonstrations and wine tastings, where food lovers can watch some of the best local chefs in action. Take note as Slow Food SA President Rosa Matto demonstrates how to prepare homemade gnocchi, while Chef Judyta Slupnicki will show you the art of the dumpling. Both dishes will feature the region’s best local produce, including Wunderbar Lamb and Four Leaf Milling Organic Flour. It’s a fantastic opportunity to pick up expert tips while sipping on Clare Valley’s finest Italian wines from Reillys and Matriarch & Rouge Wineries.

The evening will continue with a flavour-packed three-course dinner, prepared by Vincenzo Spatola, Head Chef of Fogolar Furlan, and guest Chef Judyta Slupnicki of Slow Food SA. Your taste buds will dance with delight throughout each course. Beginning with homemade gnocchi and a rich, slow-cooked lamb ragu, this is followed by the pièce de résistance – tender baked lamb shanks, served alongside your choice of velvety mashed or crispy roasted potatoes and sautéed carrots. To finish, treat yourself to a classic, homemade tiramisu – light, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending. And you can wash it all down with Clare Valley Italian varieties of wine available for purchase throughout the evening.
The event will also feature a display of last year’s TAFE SA Wool Fashion designs and the launch of the 2025 TAFE SA ‘From Farm to Fashion’ Wool Designer Awards, inspired by all things Italian.
Guests will also hear from Michele Lally, General Manager of Four Leaf Milling, as the 2025 Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb program is officially launched.
Grab your tickets now and don’t miss out on an unforgettable evening filled with food, fashion, wine, and plenty of lamb!
