Port Broughton Christmas Festival – a mecca of holiday cheer

A lineup of exciting events for the whole family is in store for December at the popular and picturesque Port Broughton.

A Christmas Street Party will take over the main street on December 9, featuring food trucks, an array of stalls, and a stack of entertainment for the kids. The highlight at 6pm is the Christmas Pageant, parading along West Tce and Bay St, showcasing local floats. Santa’s Cave at the Town Hall will be open at 7:30pm where families can meet Santa and snap a festive photo. As night falls, gather at the Port Broughton jetty at 9 pm for the Annual Christmas tree lighting, sing carols, and watch the town Christmas tree light up the sky.

This year the festival also introduces new attractions, including a Christmas Cookie Decorating stall, Bubble Tea from Adelaide Chinatown’s Chatime, and the return of favorites like face painting by Made by Monica and creations of Bali by Rae.

Saturday December 2

From humble beginnings, the town now boasts some of the biggest and brightest light displays on Yorke Peninsula, officially “lighting up” at 8:45pm

Moonta Christmas Pageant Markets and Carols

Sunday December 17

Pageant 4pm
Twilight markets at the oval from 4pm
Santa will arrive at the oval at 5.30pm
Children’s entertainment including The Funny Farmer’s between 6pm – 7pm
Carols 7pm.

Santa’s Cave at the Moonta Town Hall will be open from December 18-23, 10am – 12noon where you can enjoy part of the old John Martin’s Santa Cave and meet the man himself! Families are welcome to take photos.

Kadina Pageant and Carols

Monday December 18

Pageant kicks off at 6.15pm with carols in Victoria Square following the parade.

The Kadina Hub Giant Christmas Tree, located in Victoria Square, will be lit up each night in December.

Xmas Eve food and music at Sunny Hill Distillery

Sunday December 24

Join the crew at Sunny Hill for a few cocktails on Xmas Eve. Do some last-minute shopping while you’re there, and grab some award-winning bottles of spirits and liqueurs!
Food from YP Wood Oven – 12noon until sold out
Music by Karina Voight 12-3 pm
