A classic Kernewek Lowender crowd-pleaser hits the road
More than 600 classic and vintage vehicles will cruise through the Copper Coast on Sunday, May 18, cheered on by thousands of spectators lining the streets. The Copper Coast Classic Cavalcade, a much-loved highlight of the Kernewek Lowender, will roll out from Wallaroo in a spectacular display of motoring magic.
Held every two years, this fabulous family-friendly day out is one of South Australia’s largest motoring events, drawing car lovers and curious onlookers. As the cavalcade cruises through the Copper Triangle – alive with the sights and sounds of Cornwall – there’ll be no shortage of shiny bonnets and waving crowds.
Once the engines cool and the dust settles, the fun continues at the Classic Cavalcade Fun Fair at Kadina Oval. This is where the Show and Shine takes over and a chance to get up close and personal with these chrome-coated classics, chat with the proud owners, and see who drives away with a trophy.
There’s also plenty to keep the whole crew happy – amusement rides, live tunes from DJ Ron and the Cadillacs, dancing from the Legends Rock and Roll Club, a roast lunch at the Kadina footy club, and the festival favourites: Cornish pasties and Swanky beer.
Got a pre-1995 vehicle itching to hit the road? Just show up and pay $50 cash on the day – no pre-entry needed. That gets you a spot in the parade, entry to the Show and Shine, and a 2025 entrant plaque to show off your ride.
And while you’re clapping for the classics, don’t forget to cheer for the Kadina CFS Brigade, who are once again stepping up to help with parking and will be leading and tailing the cavalcade in true yellow-angel style.
