Missy Higgins and John Butler headline SummerSalt at Mount Gambier and Victor Harbor

SummerSalt is bringing the energy of epic Aussie live music to regional South Australia next year. In March, back-to-back shows will light up the heritage-listed Old Mount Gambier Gaol and the coastal paradise of Victor Harbor. With music festivals struggling to survive, we can’t wait for SummerSalt to hit South Australia bringing the festival vibe to life!

With a lineup stacked with Aussie legends and headlined by down-under favourites Missy Higgins and John Butler, it’s the ultimate music experience.

Missy Higgins has captivated audiences since her Triple J Unearthed days in 2002. With hits like Scar and The Special Two, Missy has carved a spot in our hearts with her raw lyrics and mesmerising voice. Now, as she celebrates the 20th anniversary of her debut album The Sound of White, she’s stepping into “The Second Act” of her career, offering fans both nostalgia and a taste of what’s to come.

Bringing his unmistakable sound, John Butler, the man behind iconic tracks like Ocean and Zebra is known for his gripping live shows and stellar musicianship. Butler brings a high-energy set that’s bound to get feet tapping and hearts racing. Having played stages like Glastonbury and Coachella, his music is as much at home under the Aussie sun as it is on the world’s biggest stages.

Joining them on stage is Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey team up as Fanning Dempsey National Park, blending their powerhouse styles with a fresh, synth-driven sound. The Waifs, celebrating three decades of feel-good folk vibes, will keep the mood breezy, while The Whitlams and their piano-infused indie hits add a dash of bittersweetness. Rounding out the performances is Josh Pyke, who’ll bring his storytelling magic with crowd favourites like Middle of the Hill.

The SummerSalt Festival isn’t just about the music either –  it’s also about making the most of some of the best locations in the country. With Mount Gambier’s historic gaol and Victor Harbor’s stunning coastline setting the scene, it’s easy to see why these locations made the SummerSalt venue list.

So grab your crew, pack your picnic rug or fold-up chair and settle in for a day of great tunes, good company, and a quintessential Aussie experience.
