The wedding business is booming! While not as may people are tying the knot as they used to, the average marriage age has increased, and along with that, as has the price tag.
According to the stats, the average cost of a wedding in Australia ranges from $25,000 to $65,000, and no matter what the budget, the options – no matter how your fairytale wedding goes, are endless.
Celebrating another picture-perfect wedding season, the Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA) held its 2023 Wedding Industry Awards on the weekend, recognising South Australia’s wedding professionals who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, value and professionalism.
Winners were determined by the reviews of almost 4,000 happy couples throughout the year, who rated individual businesses based on their overall satisfaction.
Scoring an impressive 99.67 per cent satisfaction rating, family-owned wedding and event hire business, Mid North Party Hire was named the overall winner of the Wedding Hire Award.
Based in Blyth on the Adelaide Plains, the business has grown over its 25 years, and now not only services the Mid North and Clare Valley, but has become well-known for the state-wide supply of everything from glasses to tablecloths, lighting, signage, furniture and marquees – including the bell of the ball, the stunning glasshouse marquee, where the starry night sky becomes the money-can’t-buy centrepiece.
One of the most unique wedding venues in the Adelaide Hills, The Manor Basket Range, won two major awards on the night, including Best Ceremony Venue and Best place to stay on the first night of your honeymoon.
Nestled away in the picturesque hills, the historic castle, once known as Camelot Castle, oozes a rustic, yet refined charm, with multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces, perfect for that fairytale wedding.
The Best Reception Venue award went to another Adelaide Hills favourite, Longview Vineyard. Surrounded by beautiful vineyard, waterways and historic buildings, the Longview Chefs dish up superb food, paired with their own award-winning Adelaide Hills wines.
Clearly, rolling hills and vineyard views are a popular backdrop for celebrating nuptials, Nairn’s Howard Vineyard took out Best Reception Restaurant, and was runner-up in for best Ceremony Venue.
Howard Vineyard’s beautiful all season garden and majestic oak tree is the perfect place to say “I do”. And after the ceremony guests are greeted with pre-dinner canapés, estate grown wines and a tailored food and beverage package to suit the happy couple’s preferences.
