Dance, Drink, Donate at Jamestown and District RFDS Ball
Jamestown will soar for a worthy cause in May, bringing glamour, generosity, and good times to Sir Hubert Wilkins Aerodrome. In a marquee on the air strip, under the night sky, this gala ball isn’t just about dressing up and dancing -it’s about making a difference.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is a lifeline for rural South Australians, providing critical medical care to over 15 patients every day. In the past year alone, the RFDS has made 52 landings in Jamestown, airlifting patients to essential medical treatment. With the surrounding Mid North towns of Peterborough (33 landings), Booleroo Centre (28), Clare (14), and Orroroo (9) also relying on the service, the need to keep the lifesaving angels in the air has never been greater.
In 2023 the Jamestown and District RFDS Ball raised an incredible $60,000, all of which went straight into supporting the RFDS’s operational costs. Since its inception in 2009, the community has contributed a staggering $271,000.
Guests will enjoy award-winning Hither & Yon wines, an exquisite menu by Kavanagh’s Catering, and live music from Matty Allen. RFDS Flight Nurse Chris Green will share firsthand stories from the skies, giving guests an insight into the incredible work this service provides.
Adding to the event, a live auction and online auction will feature some amazing items, including a cricket bat signed by the Australian team, a corporate box experience at an Adelaide Crows game, SA accommodation vouchers, and a bespoke tablecloth by Alysha Sparks. Plus, there’s a wine wall where every player wins a prize!
