Penola’s Christmas Shopping Street Party – A One-Stop Festive Hub
Want to wrap Christmas preparations up early? Penola, recently crowned SA’s Ag Town of the Year, is pulling out all the stops this weekend with a Christmas Shopping Street Party stopping traffic on Church Street. No excuses, folks—it’s time to tick every item off your holiday list in one go, while soaking in the festive vibes.
As the street transforms into a lively shopping hub, you’ll shop, sip, and savor your way through a dazzling array of local delights. Add to the shopping experience with a St Mary’s Gin cocktail in one hand and a delicious bite from Windara Bakery or a Vintage pie in the other. For wine lovers, Koonara’s award-winning drops are waiting to fuel your spree, and freshly made Hollick Pasta and Piper’s hearty Korean Beef and Slaw will be amongst the food offerings as you check out all of Penola’s favourite stores.
Get your Festive outfits sorted at Moss and Wild, Balnaves, and Salt and Co, and be sure to call into Di’s Gifts and Flowers- a Christmas wonderland bursting with the region’s biggest supply of decorative trimmings.
For the kids, legendary local, George the Farmer will make a special appearance at 11am in his very own concept store, and the big friendly dogs, Rusty and Sandy, will be hanging out at Penola Home Hardware, where there’ll be activities and freebies for the kids.
When the shopping’s done, call into the free gift wrapping station before kicking back to enjoy live music from Lady and the Amp at the Royal Oak Hotel from 3pm.
And as if all of that isn’t making life easy enough, shoppers can hop on the $10 street party bus from Mount Gambier.
The event is an initiative of Riddoch Business and Community Association – “Shop Local First to keep jobs in your community.”
