Stunning Trails for Runners of All Abilities
The crew at Great Southern Runs love running so much that they built their whole business around it. This bunch of fitness enthusiasts created races they’d love to participate in, around the picture postcard areas of McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula. It makes huffy puffy a lot more enjoyable with stunning coastlines, forests, and rolling green landscapes to soak in along the way.
They’re not just about races, though. Great Southern Runs want everyone to discover the beauty of their region, so they partner with local businesses to make sure runners have a fantastic time and maybe even stay a while to explore.
On August 18, Great Southern Runs are hosting the Myponga Loop “Run around the Resy”. This isn’t your average jog in the park. The long course is a 19km adventure around Myponga Reservoir, with trails that are usually off-limits and a chance to cross the dam wall when there are no cars around. It’s scenic, it’s challenging (with about 450 meters of elevation change!), and it’s definitely an experience you won’t forget.
If the long course is, well….. too long, they have a shorter 7km course that follows shared trails within the reservoir reserve. It has the same beautiful sights, a shorter distance and is perfect for all levels.
Great Southern Runs hasn’t forgotten about the kids either with a free ‘Kids’ Dash’ where they can run or walk 600 metres and feel like champions at the finish line. Parents are welcome to join in the fun and cheer on their little runners.
