History, art and outback magic every night of the week

As the sun dips behind the dusty spine of the Flinders Ranges and Quorn’s local corellas start their rowdy bedtime gossip, something magical begins to glow in the heart of town.

No, it’s not aliens. It’s the Quorn Silo Light Show – an award winning, three-hour spectacle that turns the local grain silos into a storybook under the stars.

Every night from sunset, the show kicks off with a one-hour animated deep dive into this unique South Aussie region, voiced by local legends and powered by Flinders-flavoured storytelling. From bush tucker tales and wartime trains to flying adventures and ancient water wisdom, it’s history mixed with hometown pride, told larger than life on a 30-metre concrete canvas.

After the stories wrap up, the silos transform into an open-air gallery, showcasing stunning photographs and artwork from local artists and community members. You’ll encounter sweeping landscapes, starry skies, heritage steam trains, and moments of everyday life all backed by a soundtrack of stories and music playing over FM 87.6.

To make the most of your night under the stars, bring a chair and rug up, too, because the desert chill doesn’t muck around. And don’t forget snacks and someone who knows how to switch the radio to 87.6 FM.

And if you’re hungry, Quorn’s pubs and takeaway spots are ready to feed you before showtime. You can even enjoy it all from your car if you’re keen on a drive-in cinema style experience.

Awarded Best Mega Mural in Australia in 2022, this show is a glowing example of small-town spirit done right. And yep, it happens every night. No ticket, just pull up, tune in, and watch the town shine.
