Tunarama Returns to Port Lincoln

Melissa Smith

Tunarama will be in full swing for three days of fishy fun on the foreshore

Tunarama is back and will take over the Port Lincoln foreshore from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 January 2026, with three days of action, entertainment, and a fully-packed program.

Things kick off with the Blessing of the Fleet, a long-standing tradition asking for a safe passage for those who earn their living from the sea. From there, the foreshore will come alive with street performers, live music, rides, markets, and beachside activities. It’s a tuna-rific celebration with plenty happening to keep everyone entertained.

One of the standout ticketed events is the ‘A Taste of Eyre’ Gala Dinner, serving up the region’s best seafood and local produce, followed by fireworks over Boston Bay. Crowd favourites return too, and it wouldn’t be Tunarama without chucking some of those speedy swimmers as far as possible in the tuna tossing competition. Backed up by the kingfish toss and prawn toss, there’s an option for every bicep and level of confidence.

There’s plenty more than throwing fish, too. The Swim Thru hits the water with hometown Olympic gold medallist Kyle Chalmers showing us how it’s done. A fishing simulator gives kids and adults a dry-land thrill, and those after a slower pace can settle on the lawn with oysters and champagne or take to the skies with Barossa Helicopters for a bird’s-eye view.

Events run across the Port Lincoln foreshore all weekend – check out the whole tuna-fied program here
