Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a splash of red, live bands, delicious food, and auctions, while raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis
Love is in the air in Jamestown this Valentine’s Day, and it’s coming with a big splash of red!
On Friday February 14, Cumnock Street will transform into a glamourous street party for “Paint the Town Red” – a fundraiser supporting Cystic Fibrosis South Australia (CFSA).
Organised by Kelly Morgan-Kelly from Kelly Kelly Legal – and backed by a passionate team of Jamestown locals – this night is all about great tunes, tasty food, and coming together for a cause that hits close to home for more South Aussie’s than you would think.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. It’s a daily battle, with physio, medication, and hospital visits part of the routine. While treatments have come a long way and has increased the life expectancy of those living with this disease, there’s still no cure – and families dealing with CF need all the support they can get.
“Cystic Fibrosis South Australia (CFSA) holds a special place in my heart,” says Kelly, who knows the CF journey well as a mum to 5-year-old twins, one of whom has CF. “Jamestown is home to several families impacted by CF and through our journey, I have seen firsthand the critical role CFSA has played in supporting our family, particularly through their early guidance and resources, which helped us better understand what living with CF meant for my family.”
As Cumnock Street is closed for the event, you’ll be able to kick the fun off with a glass of bubbly from the Champagne Tent, delicious wine from Hither & Yon or a zesty cocktail made with Clare Valley Gin. Folk musician Dieter Horvat will set the mood as scrumptious gourmet canapés, food stations, and late-night bites from the talented Emma Reeves are served in style with leather lounges and rose-filled nooks to relax in.
Then, strap on your dancing shoes as Gen X, Port Pirie’s favourite cover band, takes the stage and rocks the night away with hits from the 60s right through to today. Make sure your finest cocktail gear has a splash of red because you might just snag a prize for the best outfit! And don’t miss the chance to snap a pic in the CFSA Rose Garden, where red and white roses symbolise the fight against CF.
The romantic atmosphere of Valentine’s Day is perfect, with roses and cosy spots to enjoy, but the real highlight of the night is the Silent Auction and Live Auction, packed with incredible donations from locals and beyond including Rynne’s Home Hardware, Vickery Wines, Alysha Sparks, 5431 Collective, and many more. It’s your chance to snap up something special while making a difference.
“Since CFSA does not receive consistent or permanent government funding, they rely on the generosity of donations to continue supporting individuals and families impacted by CF. Fundraising is essential to ensure CFSA can keep fighting for our loved ones and those facing CF in the future” Kelly said.
