Orroroo markets serve up local flair with a dash of hometown pride

Local treasures, tasty bites, and a whole lot of heart at Orroroo

For six years, the much-loved Orroroo Markets has been a favourite go-to for locals and visitors. Held on the main street median strip and in the town hall, this year’s market is gearing up to be bigger and better, thanks to the efforts of the Orroroo Tourist Group.

Sitting at the gateway to the Flinders Ranges, Orroroo is a community that knows how to come together. Despite its fair share of challenges, this tight-knit town continues to thrive, largely due to its dedicated volunteers. From splashing the streets with yellow for cancer awareness to organising the popular market days, these passionate volunteers play a vital role in keeping the town vibrant and connected.

The markets themselves offer a bit of everything, with around 25 stalls offering baby goods, art, photography, candles, homemade wares, woodwork, and more. Local favourites like Kelly McVeigh’s children’s clothing from Port Augusta, Trisha’s Treasures sewing creations, and Tracy Sparks’ delicious preserves and jams will be on display.

With cafés and pubs open, you can enjoy a meal or snack while soaking up the warm, friendly atmosphere that brings locals and visitors together.
