New Category Recognises Innovation in Creating Unique On-Farm Experiences

South Australia’s agribusiness sector is getting a boost with a new award category in the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards.

What is Agritourism?

Agritourism combines tourism and agriculture, allowing visitors to experience farms firsthand, offering unique opportunities to learn about where food comes from, participate in fun and educational activities while enjoying the beauty of regional South Australia.

A Growing Industry

Nationally, agritourism is a $17.4 billion industry, and South Australia is well-positioned to take advantage of this growth. The state’s reputation for high-quality produce makes it a perfect fit for agritourism experiences.

New Award Recognises Leaders

The new Agritourism Award, sponsored by the South Australian Tourism Commission, recognises businesses that excel at connecting people with their food and farms. This could be through pick-your-own experiences, farm-to-table meals, specialty tours or educational events.

Free to Enter

The Awards Program is free to enter for any business or individual who meets the criteria. Entries close on July 15, 2024.
