Arthurton’s Debut Lawn Mower Race Hits the Track

If you’ve ever thought lawn mowing was just a mundane weekend chore, think again. Arthurton is about to turn that chore into a full-blown, grass-shredding event at their very first Lawn Mower Race – and it’s shaping up to be a cut above the rest.

Hosted by the Arthurton Progress Association in partnership with the South Australian Lawn Mower Racing Association (SALMRA), this event will see legendary lawnmower die-hards test their machines and their nerves on the track.

Fuel Up with Great Food and Drinks

Free entry makes this a perfect day out on the Yorke Peninsula for the whole family. Gates will open at 9am, with the racing action kicking off at 11am sharp. Some of country SA’s favourite food vans will be firing up their grills to keep you fuelled up for the day, with options from Chunky Boy’s Kitchen, Philena’s Food Van, and Port Vincent Oysters plus sweet treats from Rock ‘n Soft Ice Cream, and Bubble Teatastic.

You can quench your thirst at the licensed bar with a cold brew, or get your caffeine fix at Lisa’s Latte Coffee Van to keep you buzzing like a finely tuned engine.

Keep the Party Rolling

But the fun doesn’t end when the checkered flag drops. Kick on after the races and head over to the Arthurton Hotel for dinner while enjoying some live music.

And if you want to keep the good times rolling, why not make a weekend of it? You can camp onsite for free or book into one of the many fantastic accommodation options throughout the Yorke Peninsula.
