Dive headfirst into a Fringe-filled adventure
Fringe fever isn’t just for the city – the festival is making waves beyond the metro, bringing its signature magic to one of the most beautiful parts of the state. With a program packed with incredible events, exhibitions, and performances, you’d be crazy not to soak up the fun at River Fringe 2025.
Running from 21 February to 23 March, this month-long celebration has something for the whole family. Whether you’re keen to create, dance, or simply soak in the festival atmosphere, there’s plenty to dive into!
Ever wanted to run away and join the circus? Well, you’re in luck! Head to the Fit to Fly Circus Party (9 March) at the Waikerie Rotary Markets for interactive fun with tunes and tricks. For those who like their art with a side of wine, Paint n Plonk with Susie (22 Feb & 16 March) is calling your name, or hop aboard a River Boat Cruise & Cliff Painting Workshop (2 & 15 March) for a floating painting session with local artist Susie Skujins.
Music lovers are in for a treat with The Sensationals (1 March), who will have you carving up the dance floor with hits from across the decades. For a more laid-back vibe, Harmonize at the Bugle Hut (2 March) is the perfect spot to unwind with live tunes, great food, and a relaxed Sunday atmosphere. Evening with the Stars (28 Feb) is already sold out – so if you missed out, grab your tickets for the next best thing!
If you’re up for a chuckle, catch the hilarious What Would Gary Do? (8 March) who puts a humourous spin on early 2000s nostalgia, while Cool 4 Kids – Let’s Party Show (28 Feb) will have little ones singing, dancing, and starring on stage. Kids can also get crafty with a free Polymer Clay Activity (26-27 Feb), creating tiny trinkets to take home.
Markets and exhibitions are also in full swing. The Waikerie Riverfront Fringe Market (9 March) is a must-visit for artisan finds, food stalls, and live entertainment. Art lovers can check out An Artful Weekend at the Village (7 March) or browse the Krazy Kat Gallery & Book Launch (8 March onwards) for heartwarming cat rescue stories.
