Lantern Magic in the Barossa
Celebrate German culture in a fun-filled Laternenlauf (Lantern Walk) on Saturday, August 3.
This free event is a cherished German tradition, perfect for grandparents, parents, and kids of all ages.
As the sun sets, the Barossa Lantern Walk comes alive with a glowing parade of lanterns. Bring your own lantern (battery candles only) or create one at the lantern workshop being held before the walk.
Practice and sing along to traditional German lantern walk songs, “Laterne, Laterne” and “Ich geh mit meiner Laterne” as you parade your way around the Nuriootpa Oval. Plus enjoy the sounds of the Tanunda Liedertafel ensemble who will be there to add to the atmosphere.
No celebration is complete without delicious food, so be sure to grab some authentic German treats and drinks which will be available for purchase.
