Terry Ledgard headlines ‘A Night Under the Stars’ in Quorn

He’s scaled the icy heights of Mount Everest, served as a combat medic in the SAS, and helped film Emmy-winning documentaries on the ocean floor, and now Terry Ledgard is swapping the world stage for the wide skies of Quorn.

On Saturday, May 24, the South Aussie born and bred adventurer, author, and entrepreneur will share some of his incredible stories during A Night Under the Stars – a free community event to support and uplift Flinders Ranges locals, especially those on the land.

Right now, support matters more than ever

While no official drought declaration has been made, those who work the land don’t need one to know how bad things are. Most of South Australia has missed out on decent rain this year, and the outlook is grim. Dry seeding has started for some, others are still waiting for the skies to open, and livestock producers are already doing it tough. It’s a season that’s testing even the most resilient, and one where connection, compassion, and community have never been more important.

The event, held across the Quorn Arts Precinct and Town Hall, is a chance for the community to connect, unwind, and access support services in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

Terry’s lived experiences give him a unique perspective on resilience, mental health, and facing life’s toughest challenges. His insights and stories promise to be one of the night’s highlights and one you won’t want to miss.

There’ll also be live music from local favourites including Station Blues, Ethan Davis, Jas Kimber and David Hughes, plus free kids’ entertainment, games, face painting and RICE (Regional & Isolated Children’s Exercise) activities to keep the little tackers busy.

Enjoy a free barbecue, drinks, and other refreshments, but don’t forget to BYO alcohol and chair or picnic rug to settle in for a relaxed evening under the stars.

Information and support services will also be on hand for anyone wanting to chat, connect or learn more about what’s available locally.

A Night Under the Stars is proudly supported by PIRSA, the Family and Business Support Program, Flinders Ranges Council and Rural Aid – a celebration of connection, resilience and the quiet strength found in regional communities.
