This weekend the Starplex Community Market will come alive with over 50 stalls, food trucks, and fun activities for the kids
Located at the Starplex Centre in Evanston Park, this new indoor market ensures that rain, hail, or blistering sun-shine, the market will go on! But it’s not just about the stalls and goods; it’s about the people who make it happen.
The driving force behind the market is a dedicated team called “The Pink Fair Ladies”. A group of big-hearted women, ensure that the Starplex Community Market comes together to create an atmosphere of warmth and inclusion. Previously recognised for their outstanding work at the Craigmore Market, which was nominated for Market of the Year, their goal is to extend their reach and provide the Gawler community with a fresh, vibrant, and new market experience.
Like a lot of markets, it’s a place where friendships are forged, laughter is shared, and support is given back to the community. The market proudly supports various causes, currently directing profits towards a craft group for people living with disabilities, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.
Local support has been instrumental in the market’s success, with the Member for Light, Tony Piccolo, jumping on board and lending a hand with promotional efforts.
The market is a place for the whole family to enjoy. Tuck into a tasty BBQ courtesy of Northfield RSL or yummy treats from Potato on a Stick food truck. Pop the kids on a pony for a ride with Daisy Dilute Pony Rides and with free face painting and an all-day Easter egg hunt the little ones will be entertained for hours!
The Starplex Community Market has an eclectic array of stalls, showcasing the talents and passions of local and popular artisans. Simon from The Burning Furnace offers unique wood-burning art and with a passion for pyrography and a love of creating, marketgoers are in for a real treat.
Kayli, an inspirational young entrepreneur at Moo Boo creates colourful handmade body and home products, from room sprays, shower steamers, shaving soap, and foot cream – plus specially made Easter Packs of bath bombs. Donna from Donna Parker Artistry, shares her stunning resin artworks and as a self-taught artist, has won awards for her artwork and is a regular South Australian Living Artist (SALA) entrant.
For those with a sweet tooth, MV Cakes and Sweets and Treats offers an irresistible selection of deliciousness, from cupcakes to brownies, cookies, tarts, chocolate, and lollies to name a few.
With so many stalls, there’s a treasure trove of delights waiting to be discovered so, if you’re looking for a fun day out – dress the kids up, bring a basket, and join in the Easter market fun this Saturday!
