Chop it Axe Throwing Alley is raking in five star reviews, earning Baz Dewson’s little adventure biz SA’s top spot on Top Rated Online.
One of the few indoor activity spaces on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Chop It is the perfect hang out to take shelter from the great outdoors while still making memories and having a blast.
Fun for all ages, there’s axe throwing for the over 12’s, or tiny rubber axes for the little ones. You can spend your time testing your patience in the escape room or just roll in for a session of table games and make the most of the licensed bar and cafe.
With almost 1000 five star Google reviews, Chop It is also in Top Rated’s top 15 business in Australia, an accolade that Baz is understandably proud of.
“It’s heaps of fun and the only indoor activity other than the cinema in Victor Harbor,” he said. After working in various adventure tourism venues across Australia and New Zealand, from bungie jumping to parasailing, Baz and his wife settled in Victor Harbor, and he thought he’d bring a bit of fun to the region.
“Grandparents love bringing their grandkids in,” he said. “And when the weather’s shit, we’re always busy.”
The Escape Room which opened in 2024 has been a huge hit. It takes around an hour to break out and is a labyrinth of different themes, but Baz doesn’t give too much away about what lies within the walls of what he calls “the twilight zone”.
And while throwing axes and testing your detective skills is loads of fun, Google reviewers are also pretty taken by the hot dogs, which are made with locally sourced products gaining a five star review on their own!
