Gladstone is revving up for community fun

Head to Gladstone for a huge free event powered by local legends

We love unsung heroes, local legends, and the heart of small communities that make a difference in South Australia. And this month Gladstone is showing just that, in true country style.

Thanks to the Gladstone History Group, Locky’s Hotel, and a lineup of 15 local businesses, this little mid-north town is bringing the community together putting on a massive FREE event on November 24.

This full-day community celebration is headlined by a Classic, Vintage, and Muscle Car and Bike Show ‘n Cruise.

Kicking off at 11am, a fleet of classic vehicles will roll out from Locky’s Hotel, taking a cruise through the neighbouring towns of Crystal Brook and Laura before returning to Gladstone at midday. Back in town, they’ll park up for a “Show ‘n Shine” where car and bike lovers can admire the line-up and vote for the People’s Choice awards for Best Car and Best Bike.

It’s not just about the wheels though. From noon, the whole family can enjoy the fun with live music, a sausage sizzle, free Golden North ice cream, face painting, and face gems for the little ones. It’s an event built by locals, and made possible by an all-star cast of Gladstone businesses including Gladstone Caravan Park, the local IGA, Hanleys Auto Repairs & Passenger Services, and a host of others.

Greater SA loves seeing communities like Gladstone rally together, proving once again that when small-town legends support each other, amazing things happen.

This is the perfect time to take a road trip to Gladstone, grab a meal at the pub, spend a little time (and cash!) at the local shops, and enjoy everything this fabulous part of South Australia has to offer.
