Abbie Tiller

Run, hit, lift or bowl your way into the Masters Games

Over 35s it’s your time to shine! Dust off your sneakers, stock up on deep heat and prep yourself for some fun at the South Australian Masters Games, kicking off from April 3 to 6.

Whether you’re handy with a racquet, a dead-eye with a dart, or you want to take your cross fit game to the next level, the four-day event hosted by the city of Port Augusta will include more than 20 sports and recreational activities sure to ignite your inner athlete.

Open to all skill levels, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just want to blow the cobwebs off for a weekend of active, age-inclusive fun.

Competitors can register individually, or in some sports team nominations are accepted, and all sports have different age categories for both male and female competitors.

If you’re still a spring chicken, be sure to check out the entry requirements for individual sports. You only have to have hit the quarter-century mark to compete in the swimming and both the Masters Mile and Athletics include categories for over 30s.

The action will take place right across Port Augusta, with facilities at Central Oval Community Sporting Hub for Aussie rules football, netball, basketball and athletics, as well as the increasingly popular Pickleball.

Port Augusta Tennis and Golf Clubs will also be hosting, and volleyball and badminton will take place at Hancock Stadium.

The small town city of Port Augusta can’t wait to welcome the multi-sport festival, with Hannahville Hotel and Business Port Augusta both proud major sponsors of the event.
