Elders Burra named National Branch of the Year

It’s been a winning week for Burra, with the little Mid North town pulling off a trifecta of epic celebrations. From local fashion designer, Emily Riggs named the state’s Best Designer at the highly acclaimed SA Life Awards, to a $50 million Oz Lotto ticket sold to a local at the Burra Pharmacy, topped off by the town’s “pink shirts” being named Elders National Branch of the Year.

For Branch Manager, Nick Brooks, having his hard-working pink shirt team recognised on a national level, at the annual One Elders Awards, was the highlight of his career.

“I’m just over the moon. We enjoy what we do, we work as a team, we have a bit of fun while we’re doing it and that’s a really good ingredient base,” he said.

“I am exceptionally proud of the efforts of my team and what they have accomplished to develop the branch to the level it is at today. It’s a positive reflection on all of us and the relationships we have built with our clients to support our community.”

The One Elders Awards program celebrates individuals and teams who make significant contributions to the business. Nominees are selected by the Elders network and their peers for embodying and consistently demonstrating the company’s core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and customer focus.

Elders Area Manager for SA, Josh Reichstein, said Burra’s branch results speak for themselves, highlighting why Nick Brooks’ team has earned National recognition.

“Nick has done an outstanding job leading the Burra branch, while also managing the Jamestown branch and supporting the Clare Real Estate Team. His leadership in Burra has been invaluable, especially as he balances his time across these areas,” he said.

Elders Burra delivered outstanding financial results despite facing the challenge of a record drought. The branch achieved significant growth across all product categories, except retail, and saw increases in real estate settlements, financial services, and sales of wool bales, cattle, and sheep. It also excelled in operational efficiency, leading the way in stock-turns, inventory management, and PriceBook coverage.

With an impressive employee engagement rate of 89 per cent and enablement at 86 per cent, Burra fostered a collaborative, customer-focused culture, supporting neighbouring branches as needed. Committed to the community and actively involved in local events, the team earned strong customer loyalty through exceptional service.
