Eight-star off-grid energy, five-star luxury, and panoramic ocean views
After years of camping in breathtaking locations across the Eyre Peninsula, builder, Scott Taylor and his wife Susan, have created an off-grid haven for holiday-makers to enjoy a luxurious piece of paradise, without compromising the environment.
Perched atop Mount Westall, just a short drive from Streaky Bay, Pod [e] Mulla Mulla has been meticulously designed for year-round comfort, achieving an eight-star off-grid energy rating and a five-star luxury rating from guests.
The serene eco-escape set on a sprawling 300 acres, offers sweeping panoramas from North to South, taking in the beauty of nearby Speeds Bay, the glistening Yanerbie Sandhills and Cape Blanche in the distance.
Not only can you take in the breathtaking views with a drink in hand on the deck – Pod [e] guests are also provided with all the gear needed for maximum exploration.
Explore the property or venture further afield along the Westall Way Loop and beyond with complimentary E-bikes, helmets and a self-guided tour map. There’s snorkelling equipment and bodyboards available for use as well as a range of optional add-on experiences, from Streaky Bay Yoga to an exclusive Pod[e] Photography Package with Bonnie McEvoy Photography, a pre-purchased beverage package including South Aussie ales from Jumpship Brewery, Peter Teakle Wines, 23rd Street Distillery and Vale Brewing.
While the secluded coastal scenery is the real hero at Mulla Mulla, Pod [e] adds an extra element of bliss, and proves how luxury living can be achieved without leaving a lasting environmental footprint.
The Pod opens up to the north and south, with panoramic ocean views and natural sea breezes. Inside, there’s a main bedroom and studio room, both with queen-sized beds. An open plan kitchen/dining area comes complete with a coffee machine and a toasty fire place for the cooler months. Relax in the hand poured resin bath or take a shower outdoors with a magnificent view – a favourite for reviewers. Other stand-outs with past guests include super comfy beds with views of the night sky, quality decor and fittings, and the abundance of provisions, including freshly roasted coffee beans, a cooler bag and picnic rug and a complimentary welcome pack filled with luxury South Australian products.
“The accommodation truly has that wow factor when you arrive, being in the most stunning location just 20 minutes from Streaky Bay. One bedroom overlooks a headland and local surf break, whilst the other has you waking up to white dunes in the distance. Magic!” – The Chamberlains
With approval for four eco-friendly pods, Scott and Susan hope to have the second luxury accommodation offering, Banksia, complete by the end of 2025.
