Drakes Supermarket to bring up to 200 jobs and in-store popcorn to Two Wells

Drakes has been named as the flagship supermarket retailer for Two Wells’ $150 million Town Centre development.

The new store, to be built just off of Port Wakefield Road on the town’s former trotting track, will be one of Drakes largest supermarkets in South Australia, employing up to 200 people and offering all the fan favourites like Nonna’s Pasta, The Little Kitchen, F’Real Milkshakes and in-store popcorn, as well as a generous service delicatessen.

The supermarket is a critical component of the Two Wells Town Centre’s first stage, which will also include specialty tenancies, a food and beverage precinct, childcare centre and swim school.

Drakes Supermarket Director, John Paul Drake, said the family-owned South Australian business was privileged to be joining the growing Two Wells community.

“The story behind the origins of Two Wells is fascinating. Wells are a sign of vitality, and we hope to inject this same level of energy back into the Town Centre.”

Earlier this year, Adelaide Plains Council selected Leyton Property as its development partner for the project, with construction of stage one scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025 and be completed in 2026.

Further plans for the town centre include a mix of retail, healthcare, commercial and community amenities along with sustainably landscaped and high-quality open spaces.

“When completed, Two Wells Town Centre will be the destination-of-choice in Adelaide’s outer north, providing a convenient and vibrant hub in one of South Australia’s fastest growing residential regions,” Leyton Property Managing Director Hamish Brown said.
